The qualified submissions relating to “Advancements in Smart Sludge Management (ASSM-2024)” can be published in a special issue on Chemical Engineering Journal (CEJ) after passing the general review process (https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/chemical-engineering-journal/about/call-for-papers#advancements-in-smart-sludge-management-assm-2024). This special issue (ASSM-2024) covers, but is not limited to, the following topics:
(1) Advanced anaerobic digestion;
(2) Advanced physicochemical processes;
(3) Energy/resource recovery;
(4) Energy/resource self-sufficiency;
(5) Smart and sustainable management; and
(6) Systematic sludge treatment and disposal
