The 1st International Conference on Bioprocess and Sustainability (ICBS)

Biological processes are crucial for the conversion or transformation of contaminants or raw materials into harmless or useful products to maintain the sustainable development of agroindustry and society. Compared to physiochemical processes, biological processes produce less or no secondary pollutants with less energy/resource consumption, which are more environmentally friendly for large-scale application, targeting carbon neutrality. The 1st International Conference on Bioprocess and Sustainability (ICBS) will address the recent advancements in bioprocesses and their sustainability, providing the platform for communication and exchanging ideas among the researchers.

The 1st ICBS will be held in a hybrid mode on March 25-26, 2023 (conference dates). The onsite event will be conducted during March 24-28 in Tsukuba, Japan. The qualified articles will be published in a special issue on Bioresource Technology Reports (BITEB) after passing the general review process (https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/bioresource-technology-reports/about/forthcoming-special-issues#recent-advancements-in-bioprocesses-and-their-sustainability).

The topics include but not limited to the followings.

(1) Biological waste treatment

(2) Bioenergy and resource recovery

(3) Biomass reclamation and utilization

(4) Biosystem and bioassay

(5) Sustainable management and analysis

(6) Other systems or conversions relating to sustainability

        Non-member: 15,000 JPY
